Daily Itinerary
Day 1: Ol Doinyo Lengai
Your challenging full-day adventure begins with a midnight transfer from your lodge near Lake Natron to the base of Ol Doinyo Lengai. Guided by headlamp, you'll hike in the cool darkness of early morning, ascending steep volcanic rock. Reach the summit at dawn for a surreal sight of a smoking crater and panoramic views across the Rift Valley, Lake Natron, and possibly Mount Kilimanjaro. After a short rest, you will begin your descent, returning to your lodge by mid-morning.
