Practical Information
Everything you need to know to prepare for your Tanzanian journey.
When to Travel
Tanzania is a year-round destination, but the best time depends on what you want to see:
- June to October (Dry Season): Best for game viewing. The Great Migration is in the Northern Serengeti (Mara River crossings).
- January to March (Green Season): Calving season in the Southern Serengeti. Lush landscapes and excellent birding.
- April to May (Long Rains): Low season. Fewer crowds, lower rates, but some camps may close.
Visas & Entry
Most visitors require a visa to enter Tanzania.
- E-Visa: We strongly recommend applying for the Online Visa at least 3 weeks before travel to avoid queues on arrival.
- Passport: Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates with at least one blank page.
- Vaccinations: Yellow Fever certification is required only if traveling from a country with risk of yellow fever transmission (including transit >12 hours).
Sustainable Travel
We are committed to preserving Tanzania for future generations.
- Plastic Ban: Tanzania has a strict ban on single-use plastic bags. Please pack using reusable bags or packing cubes.
- Respecting Wildlife: We maintain strict distance protocols. We observe, we do not disturb.
- Cultural Etiquette: Always ask for permission before photographing people. We facilitate meaningful interactions, not "human zoos."
