Tarangire National Park

Welcome to the land of giants. Tarangire National Park is a realm defined by its two most majestic inhabitants: the African elephant and the ancient baobab tree. During the dry season, the Tarangire River becomes a lifeline, drawing incredible concentrations of wildlife and offering some of the best game viewing in Tanzania. Watch as enormous herds of elephants, sometimes hundreds strong, dig for water in the dry riverbed or socialise in the shade of the “upside-down trees.” The park’s diverse landscape of rolling hills, dense woodlands, and vast swamps also provides a sanctuary for a thriving population of lions, leopards, zebra, and unique antelope species like the fringe-eared oryx. For bird lovers, Tarangire is a paradise, boasting over 550 species. It’s a less crowded, beautifully scenic park that offers an authentic and intimate safari experience.
